passions galore
the walkmen! let's not forget why this blog started in the first place. it was when a copy of everyone who pretended to like me landed on my desk, that i fell in love -- completely in love -- with the new york music scene. my heart swelled last night when i was listening to this album in juliet's apt. oh bestill my soul. nothing is so-so when hamilton's vocals are voicing my heart. nothing is dead when the walkmen are ruling the rawk.
they are playing webster hall on october 29 as part of bowery presents. you better scoop tickets because this show is gonna top everything else in rocktober. and you don't want to be missing when they hit that shit.

also, the tarts of pleasure are dj'ing at red and black in williamsburg off the bedford L stop -- part of belvy's freezepop party or something like that. you know where it is. they start spinning the fun dancey stuff at 11 p.m. (((135 N. 5th Street))) sweet.
why do the unicorns make me so happy? i was a born a unicorn... i could've sworn you believed in me... blah blah blah... how come all the other unicorns are dead?!?

Saw 'em at the Q101 Block Party in Chicago on Sat. Add them to my list of bands one gains a new found appreciation for....especially after seeing Hamilton's head nearly explode a couple of times. I find that their lyrics are simple, yet evoke very detailed images for any twenty-something (or thirty-something) living in the city going through the daily grind, yet finding the time to do the things they love.
Anywho....sorry I missed DoP in Chicago...I was pissed needless to say, as I sat working at 10pm at night. I was not a happy camper. Hopefully you and the band innjoyed Schubas.
