numb fingers, beating heart

Yes, peeps, I'm still alive. But my left pointy finger is still a little numb. Why? This past weekend, I learned to play a song on bass. A bunch of us went into the practice space on saturday, and joe taught me how to play a song... It was rad. But now finger feels half dead. How do you do it, DJ?

Anyhoo, last week I also attended that modest mouse show at webster hall thanks to the good will of one dt (thanks, babe). However my vip pass didn't get me any free drinks (oh well).

I started off the pre-show festivities relaxing at jay's youth hostile, with the likes of noah from sam champion and jay's roommates, kyle and builder. I had to leave shortly afterwards to meet up with jo at hifi. Our intention was to play some pool, but we ended up just sitting in a booth, talking. Eventually a coupla friends joined us -- garrett, juliet and doug.

Then we headed over to webster hall and ran into the youth hostile crew. The lot of us walked over. While I was happily surrounded by like 50 of my closest friends (ha), I was not graced by any air conditioning. What's up with that, webster? So I enjoyed much of the last half hour of modest mouse right outside the room. But I was super happy when they played "float on." It was such a happy anthem. It put me in bright spirits.

That is until the drunk frat boys standing next to me started to bother jo and I. One of them had their arm strewn across in front of me so there was nowhere for me to go. Desspite what you may or may not think, I'm not used to being cornered by guys at a rock show. Luckily, jo was there to protect us. She rocks!

One note: what's up with isaac brock giving h&m a plug during the show? Will franz ferdinand soon talk about top shops, and will the yeah yeah yeahs start doing commercials for the gap? Think about it kids, its not that far-fetched, methinks.

Thanks for the heads-up on the MM show way before it became un-secret :)
Negligible:if you saw somebody give you a strange look of half-recognition last week on the street around lunchtime, that might have been me.
