another new york moment via me

it's so damn cold out, my hands are white with lines of dead skin. as i'm walking to work, i can feel my lips crippling in the dry air. i close my eyes and imagine the air being sucked out of my mouth too, killing the soft tissue, cell by cell. if i had enough strength, i would raise my hands above my head and fall back in bed. but like katy, i sometimes look forward to the routine of being in front of a computer, typing typing typing. it allows a kind of thoughtlessness -- the kind of blind mind that enables us to continue living and breathing, slow and steady.
