i love it when a plan comes together

some may call me bipolar, but this weekend has been both good and bad. i started it off on sort of the right foot by getting plastered on friday night. but like most things that start superfast, the weekend slowly fizzled into a big nothing. a void, if you will. one of the bright points was my brunch with bsiii at relish in williamsburg on saturday. for those of you who don't know, relish is located on north 3rd and wythe, and i often refer to it as the place where kelis shot her "milkshake" video. bsiii and i thought we were free and clear of snow and that it would be safe to venture out for food that day. by the time i left the house to go meet up with him however, the snow had already started, and i was chilly willy. but the cold trek was well worth the warm brunch. we got caught up in each other's lives. he told me he had two films in sundance this year, which is awesome! the band he is managing, cousin, is going really well with their recordings. sweet. and then bsiii started playing with the wide-eyed toddler in the booth behind us. it was the funniest thing i've seen in a long time. the restaurant was playing all this hip-hop and bsiii started dancing to it -- the kid started mimicking his dance moves. i couldn't stop laughing! so much fun.

i was supposed to go out to mercury lounge on saturday night but just could not muster up the courage to face the cold again. besides, dr. dog had canceled that show, and that's who i really wanted to check out....

the next day i spent in a daze... but i got all rested up to go see fxxxing lion, minaret, narchitect and no things at sin-e. i was in this really antisocial mood though, and started not to feel well, so i left after minaret. too bad, i heard no things were amazing. pat, i will catch ya next time around, i promise! fxxxing lion were on point that night, but joe did not take off his pants. i was thankful. i don't think i could have handled looking at his hairy ass that night (no offense, joe...). then minaret really wowed me with a tight performance. their songs are getting better and better. good things to come for these bands.

this week is gonna be insane, but if you are around tomorrow night, come to the spinart benefit. this is the blurb everyone seems to be posting:
