jinners: why do you come here? and why do you hang around?

everything i learned from the past two nights but didn't have time until now to tell you

** i really like cheeseburger. both the meal and the band. they don't take themselves seriously and if you have a flask full of maker's mark, the night flies by like a giddy dream, and you're screaming like a silly idiot to new york's best party hardy rock'n'roll. and i still can't get the sight of joe's ass crack out of my head. christy and luke, i don't know how you put up with that.

** diamonds nights are good too. love the 'staches.

** i really like lansing-dreiden (or since they are not really l-d, l-d section i). i told daniel i would kick him if they were bad. after the show was over, i gave him too much adulation and a hug or two. it was so amazing to see this gothic new wave come to life. i can't wait to see them at sxsw!

** the occasion had some good songs too, but they made me remark at how many bands these days have at least one jesus figure. and if they don't have a jesus figure, they have a 'stache. this is even the case with dirty on purpose. joe, curses!

** also, new york is definitely small. kevbo sent me a link to this band, the end of the world. i really liked the lead singer's voice. we went to see lansing-dreiden last night at mercury lounge. and then he was like, "hey that's the singer over there." i thought to myself, "that guy looks very familiar." he was talking to daniel's friend carrie (sp?). as soon as i walked up to them, i realized why he looks familiar -- i have met him many times through daniel -- it was his friend stefan! SMALL WORLD, RIGHT?

** i have stopped caring about free red stripe.

** i have a newfound aversion to afterparties.

** also, i hate the new "no re-entry" rule at rothko. wtf is up with that?

** i actually spent more than two minutes in the dark(coke)room last night, and it wasn't so bad because if you have a table, you can gawk at people with some amusement (and you're sitting down, so your feet aren't tired).

** i have gotten two lap dances from guys this week. when did indie rock boys start giving lap dances in trendy east village/lower east side bars? i think it takes a lot of vodka in the champagne room. the best part? i didn't have to tip or reciprocate.

** stevie wonder = good times. no wonder the man receives awards every time the wind blows. he fucking deserves it for all the warm feelings he has put forth into the lives of many. maybe he invented global heart warming.

Awww, sorry you didn't have a good time nor enjoy the free beer last night at the party. I admit it was a little crazy! Next time you come by, i'll get you a drink of your choice :)
