the view from my hotel window.

when i got to austin, jonathan was a gracious host. he made me a sandwich. he got me a beer. he inflated a mattress and made a comfy bed. we got vaporized. it was awesome.

what was not awesome was only getting 4 hours of sleep. i woke up the next day, and it was raining. not cool! i somehow called a cab to pick me up because jonathan and james, his roommate, were both asleep. i went to my hotel to check in, and took a hot shower. i figured i deserved one, even if i didn't really have time to take one.

then of course, my work day started. i won't bore you with the details, but i was schlepping!

kevin bybee from the arm (sort of formerly on!air!library! stopped by the ascap/filter party to see jason falkner. falkner was aiite. not stupendous. probably because, as he admitted himself, he was terribly hung over and had only woken up a little before the show. real profesh.

as we were waiting for doug to get to the green potatoes gig (he was waiting for the van to be picked up and towed to a repair shop), we enjoyed the famous bbq. i had brisket or something. and no, i don't really want to know what brisket is. thanks.

one of the best things about waking up to joe in the morning, is that first cup of joe. it's funny and wakes you up with a laugh, a wink and a smile. you figured he had to be happy, sleeping with three girls in the room.


dtl, bless, his heart, helped me with my work one day, dragging four heavy boxes of magazines to the trade show. just call him muscles traci, yo!

sound team (from austin) were great. jennifer k says they are like a poppier walkmen. hey, that sounds appealing and all, but my heart stays with the walkmen. can't wait to see them on monday.


i was watching the crowd watch kaiser chiefs at the ascap/filter party. it must feel so good to have so many people into your music. i must say, it was magical to witness. my heart beat faster as i imagined being on the stage, in total rock bliss. that's why these kids do it!
