i wish i never saw the sunshine
let me just say that today fucking dragged!!!!
ok now that i have that off my chest, i'd like to say i bought a bike yesterday, and am very happy with it. i look forward to taking many bike rides with dirty wburg hipsters.
moving on... tonight susan's donald played a ronettes song that was like "i wish i never saw the sunshine." it made me very sad because the loneliness in the song kind of creeps up on you. like you're trying not to act sad, but you are, so you are even sadder. crazy! so basically, it doesn't necessarily appear to be a sad song, but when you listen to the lyrics, you realize how tragic they are. somehow that made the song seem very real and matter of fact. the simplicity was astounding. how come no one really writes songs like that anymore? everything is always over the top and very self conscious.
i went to see mike's band last night and i guess i could have stayed for eluvium and mono, but i was really uninterested in being depressed so i went home. susan came out to the show with me, and it was really good to hang with out with her. i was looking forward to watching my netflix anchorman dvd, but realized when i opened the envelopes that they were the other movies i rented -- diva and closer. both sounded sort of depressing.
hump day officially sucks!!
