rock and roll birthday
friday night i went to see stefan's band, the end of the world, again at tommy's tavern. that night i also ended up seeing the narrator (chicago), the pathways (chicago) and the natural history. everyone was really great, and i really enjoyed the narrator, actually. they surprised me because i actually thought their live show was better than their recordings. the natural history were also really great. somehow the sound in tommy's tavern was pretty excellent that night.

the end of the world were also soooo much better on friday night than they were on tuesday. it was more impassioned, and a much tighter set. several times i whirled around and couldn't get over how much they sounded like one of my faves.

somehow when i go out to these random events, i always end up running into people i know -- but they all don't know that we all know each other. follow what i'm saying? like i know jeannie from the seconds, jumee from ascap, tyler (jumee's bf chef) and jesse from the narrator, but i had no idea that they all knew each other and were good friends. so random.

then the next night, daniel and stefan had a joint birthday party at stefan's apartment in greenpoint. that party was a lot of fun too, and cameos were made by jay, dana, cara, juliet, george, joe, and others. i brought the boys a couple cupcakes from sette pani. it was more fun than i thought it would be. cheers to everyone!

today i played scrabble with anna and won. it was so warm that it really is starting to feel like summer. sooo nice! i just saw anchorman this weekend, and i keep quoting stuff from it. today my explanation to everything was, "because i'm a sex panther!"
