yay for summer vacation!!!
if pressed to recount the past week, i might actually pass out from exhaustion. let's just say i have had an unusually eventful, uneventful week. i mean, i have tried to do different things. and somehow it has turned out to be alright.

thursday was the start of my two-week vacation from my dayjob. i was jumping for joy. exhilarated. happy happy joy joy. of course, i left work and went straight into two meetings, but the night was feeling good. that night i ended up sleeping on joe and george's futon for the last time in greenpoint, as they have just moved into the sugar factory building in williamsburg. their apartment is a total shithole right now, but the potential of the raw space is enormous.

anyways, friday i don't think i did a whole lot. or i just don't remember. or it was just a sad day that i have blocked out from my mind.

saturday, the band and i left for our show in albany. i had never been to albany before so it was at least a new destination for me. i rode in the van with joe and doug and george and dj rode up separately. riding in the van with doug and joe is a lot of fun, i have to say. we brought along an acoustic guitar and were doing sing-alongs. i learned the words to a few of their songs (the true lyrics, not the ones i make up in my head). it was just light and funny.

when we got to albany, there were a bunch of tough looking people out front who were there for the hardcore show that had been going on there all day. the venue, valentine's, is your average bar/venue in that it had a pool table, ice hockey game and a bar stashed with every single beer and drink under the stars (including red bull, which i chugged). we liked the bartender howard who is also the booker. julia, another bartender, was a fan of the band and booked us up there. they were really great people who obviously have a love for music as strong as i do. bergory watson (aka greg) came up for the show, as did faniuella and sung bin. good times!

we got back to new york at 4:30 in the morning and greg and joe crashed at my place. i had brunch with bergory the next day at lola's cafe on graham avenue in wburg. it was delicious and the sangria was potent. we got buzzed. i also bought an old german camera for $5 from one of my neighbor's yard sales. it was pretty amazing. i can't wait to develop the film. it's this wild camera with a viewfinder that is on top with all these reflective mirrors. bergory bought a drumset alarm clock, and we walked around the neighborhood playing the big band music that was coming out of the clock... until it died.

i fell asleep again, but woke up later and jaunted over to prospect heights to meet up with anna, pat and naf. we played a little in-between poker, but honestly i think gambling is a bore. so we waited for joe to meet up with us and went to pat's house... where they played more poker. joe, naf and i decided to call it a night and head back over to wburg. joe and i then decided to get a drink at union pool... where we ran into lots of people... including joe robinson. hi, joe robinson. and madeleine from hula. we closed out the bar and went home, passed out watching anchorman. oh baxter, you are my little gentleman...

yesterday joe and i zoomed around the neighborhood and then met up with tanya and sophie. we later went to a bbq that was thrown by keith from we are scientists and c.o. from bishop allen. i had never met him before so that was fun. we then went over to relish to eat a proper meal. it was delicious. sophie played in the grass with the deer and mary statue most of the time. then joe and i parted ways with sophie and tanya and headed over to the sugar factory 4th of july party, just in time for the fireworks. it was pretty awesome just to sit there with some friends and watch the sky sparkle. i ran into juliet, shara and this guy davy who i used to work with at alloy. it was so crazy running into davy. i hadn't seen him in so long, and we were never that close, but it's always cool running into someone after a long time because it gives you a new perspective on them. i feel like i have changed so much since the alloy days... i feel like a completely different person, and i always wonder if other people think that too.

anyhoo, we then went to a party on dobbins street in greenpoint, but that party was over when we got there, so we headed back to wburg. joe had to sleep so we decided to just go home. we parted ways with juliet. on the way home though joe wanted to get some free pizza from capone's, so we went over there for a bit. joe and i teamed up on pool against these two guys. we won all three times, and decided we should be pool sharks on the road. then we went home and started watching kill bill, but called it a night during the oren inishi part.
