jinners: why do you come here? and why do you hang around?

congrats to brooklyn vegan on his village voice award, though i'm not sure you want to avoid the shows he rallies. i'm sure the village voice is right there beside him.

lately i've been floating around, very detached from the world around me. new york has been crying non-stop for about a week now, and it's starting to get on my nerves. soggy pants and bleak thoughts pervade. it's strange, but the thought of eating the fried pickles i had in boston at lizard lounge makes me happy. those were some damn fine pickles. why aren't there any in new york? or are there? fill me in, please.

i've been confining myself indoors, watching csi marathons, courtesy of netflix. i blame the rainy weather, but then again, my nerdy side triumphs. i've started wearing my glasses so that the world isn't so blurry, and i'm rejoicing in jacket season.

it's also knitting season, and i'm having my first fall get-together this saturday at my place of my best ladyfriends. i actually ran into someone yesterday who didn't know what a "bitch and stitch" was. what?? this will be fun. food, alcohol, yarn, movies and girltalk. i told my roommate marcel that he could stick around (i mean, he does live there) but he may be overwhelmed by the amount of estrogen in the room.
