what does it mean? it doesn't mean anything. it's essentially a few latin phrases (some fragmented) that were pulled from an old passage in cicero's de finibus bonorum et malorum. the nonsensical phrase is often used by typographers (and in modern times website coders) as filler text. the original whole phrase translates to something quite romantic: there is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it, and wants to have it, simply because it is pain.

this reminds me of my favorite catullus poem... my translation of it:
i hate and i love. perhaps you ask me how this is so? i do not know. i only feel it, and i am tortured.
