end of 2006 comment

i cannot believe i've hardly blogged in december. it has been one of the most challenging months of my life!! professionally, personally, emotionally, physically and mentally. i've had absolutely no time to stop and reflect until now. it's been absolutely NANAS!! why am i using so many exclamation points? i have no clue... i have forced myself to go out almost every day this december. i've tried to become a better citizen. a better friend. a better manager. to the best of my abilities. oh how weary it has made me. i'm back in pennsylvania now, hanging with some family for a few before i head back up to new york for new year's eve get togethers. i'm looking for my old prom dress so i could perhaps wear it to brendan's "high school dance" themed celebration. should be cute at the very least! what is everyone else doing?

free dirty on purpose show @ the delancey + my birthday party

i don't always throw a party for my birthday, but this year, i decided to combine a birthday bash with the dirty on purpose fall 2006 tour finale at the delancey on december 13. the show is free to get into so bring all your friends out to celebrate. there will be much boozing!

i went to see chin up chin up last night at r&r, and it was fucking fun as shit. holy moly. the Chi-town gang is so much fun, and i saw a lot of faces i hadn't seen in a long long time. oh, and yes, chin up and chin up was so much fun. they had me swaying with my eyes closed!

icy demons @ tonic



so i went to go see icy demons the other night at tonic, and the show was pretty awesome. it was sort of a surprise to me as i wasn't sure how i would like this sort of freak music. but i did like need new body and man man, so it would make sense that i would like icy demons too. but i found that i like icy demons so much more than nnb or mm. they have this sort of "freaked out cruise ship" music that really bugs me out in a good way. i bought some buttons from them. one said "internet flirting" with an X over it, and the other was a hot pink icy demons pin. jedd bought a couple good ones but gave me the one i coveted that said "shit is fucked." we decided that their band name was the perfect name for them because it would be the kind of wacked out music you may hear if you are at the north pole. i described the band's music as the perfect score to a tim burton film set on a cruise ship with ghosts and ghouls. like rocky horror on a cruise ship or something. they are playing todd p's show at glasslands tomorrow night (saturday) so be sure to check that shit out.

oh, and PS, the band on before icy demons was called nymph, and they made me feel so uncomfortable with their spacey, hippie asian girl jumping up and down with her jingle bells. i think a friend of mine described it best -- it was like watching your grandparents have sex on stage. sexual but in a horrific way.
