We cannot express how shocked and saddened we are to hear that northern Japan has been hit with another earthquake today — this time a 7.4 magnitude earthquake — and to make matters worse, there is yet another tsunami warning in place.

Some more heartbreaking facts: as of today April 7, 2011, 10AM Japan local time: the official count of recovered bodies are at 12,596. The list of persons missing from the disaster now stands at 14,727. An estimated 350,000 are reportedly homeless from the devastation caused by the Japanese tsunami and 9.0 magnitude earthquake earlier this month.

Our hearts have been hurting thinking about this tragedy, and we’ve put together a two-part benefit to raise funds to help the disaster relief effort in Japan. 100% of the ticket sales and silent auction sales will benefit GlobalGiving.org, a charity that is currently disbursing funds to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami. The funds will directly help survivors and victims with recovery efforts.

Thanks to everyone who helped make Night One on April 5th a huge success — raising nearly $9,000. Let’s double that number for Night Two on April 15th!

The Bayside Tigers will be doing TWO special live all-grunge cover sets (expect Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and SO much more) with DJ irockiroll to keep you pogo dancing before, after, and in between in the performance space and DJ Mr. F spinning 90s pop and hip hop in the front lounge.
