Pursesnatchers is playing tonight at Death By Audio! I’m obviously biased when I say I love this band, but seriously they are ruling these days. Check out the new album, A Pattern Language. Old Dirty On Purpose fans will recognize “Baseball on the Radio” a popular live DOP favorite that was never recorded before…

@ Death by Audio (49 South 2nd Street in Williamsburg)
Tuesday, October 11, Doors are at 8, the bands should start around 9, in this order:
:The Bronzed Chorus
::Radical Dads
:::Pursesnatchers
:::Weird Owl
$7

Also Pursesnatchers’ frontman Doug Marvin is playing drums in a new band called Dear Lions, and they are playing a show on Friday… I hear it features one of the guys from Pete and Pete. Hmmmm…. They just opened for The Rural Alberta Advantage and Hospitality at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

@ Matchless (557 Manhattain Avenue in Greenpoint)
Friday, October 14, Doors at 8, bands play in this order:
:Shake the Baron
::Elsa and the awesomeAWESOMES
:::Zula
::::Dear Lions

Larry g(EE) - “Yo Mama”

This Dallas-based soul singer is performing at Union Hall on Saturday, October 15 with the Last Royals. 7:30pm doors. Love this song - reminds me of a young hipster version of Cee-Lo, super soulful and energetic.

Purchase advance tickets here.

I don’t know how to properly express how excited I am to see Andy Rourke of The Smiths DJ at Union Hall this Saturday. My limbs are simply tingling. I might go numb. On top of that, seeing Real Estate is going to be over the (jin) moon!!! Sorry for the bad pun.

lots o hugs, jinners

p.s. Advance tickets are sold out, but there will be limited tickets available at the door, first come, first serve. Get there early!!

Seeing Evan Dando and Julianna Hatfield at the Bell House on Friday night was like re-living all my awkward shy insecure years as a teenager all over again. As Katy said to me that night, “You are experiencing the awkwardness of the 90s!” And it was endearing nostalgic adorable. A bit part, but a huge part of my life. The 90s were about rawness. Imperfection. And of course, good bedhead.
